From the Golden Square Mile to the Mile End, bees are quietly checking into some of Montreal’s best addresses. Tucked away on rooftops and terraces, these hives are adding a new layer to the city’s most iconic buildings.

Place Ville-Marie (1 Place Ville-Marie)

A downtown landmark since 1962, Place Ville-Marie was designed by I.M. Pei and sits above Montreal’s vast underground city. Its renovated Esplanade, shops, and 360° observatory make it a true meeting point for business and culture.

Ritz-Carlton Montréal (1228 Sherbrooke St W)

Opened over a century ago, the Ritz hotel blends old-world charm with modern touches like a rooftop garden and saltwater pool. The hotel’s long guest list includes dignitaries, celebrities, and visiting royals.

Famous for its colorful glass exterior, the Palais hosts major events and exhibitions year-round. It also has one of the city’s largest green roofs, planted with native species and designed to support urban wildlife.
