Bring an Alvéole program to your building
Philadelphia is no stranger to urban bees. The city has been hosting rooftop beehives since 1914. In fact, the most commonly used beehive model in the country was designed by a Philly native. The city’s pollinators feast on a wide variety of white clover, milkweed, and linden trees.

Meet the neighborhood bees
ONE Liberty Place
Since 2021, honey bees have called the Shops at Liberty Place rooftop home.
The property team was inspired to bring on a beekeeping program to increase environmental awareness and engagement within the community.
ONE Liberty Place holds informational and interactive events hosted by their Alvéole beekeeper. Participants have had the chance to swing by a kiosk and ask their burning beekeeping questions, or make their own candles from beeswax.
